Did a ton of dumb stuff and chewed up a lot of bates lites, 1 set of reckonings (basically sadness in shoe form), and my RATS remain beyond bulkier than moving a 240 (but I’m ok with because the 240 bc it has some umph and a little “get me up”) and meh (which reminds me of boots that get sucked into the mud when I was a kid BUT now I’m trying to pick up all of earth’s mud with my foot).Do I miss the lites feeling of slippers?Yes.Do I miss no support and feeling grass, rocks, water, and sticks through that giant rip in the fat part of my foot after like, 3 weeks of doing hoodrat activities?Nope!Should you buy Rocky’s instead of Reckonings because Danner was trying to capitalize on a boot that lasted 1.5 years instead Bates lites which last about a year? 100% give these guys a chance.OHH they a lil chonky, they a lil thicc but in the right places. My favorite part is the eyelets for the laces don’t have that stupid metal eyelet that sits directly on the ankle bone. Those stupid eyelets that I use a needle nose pliers on in the field to pull off and tell the 1stSgt all 4 broke off on day 1 of the FEX, super weird. Whether or not that stupid eyelet has a lace through it, it gratuitously goes to third base with every rock and hard surface in the known universe using your precious ankles like a headboard against wall paint in the love exchange.We have more than 2 boot making companies now (don’t get me started on Belleville being a boot company because they are the velcro sketchers of the MC).
